Morehouse will be open for remote instruction only through January 28, 2022, and then resume in-person operations on January 31, 2022. Health and safety protocols will continue to be evaluated based on conditions on campus, in the Atlanta area, and in the nation, and are subject to change. Current protocols include the following:

This information updates all previous guidance regarding our return to campus for the spring 2022 semester:

• Classes will initially resume virtually. Classes will resume as scheduled on Wednesday, January 12; however, all classes will be held virtually through Friday, January 28.
• In-person operations are delayed. In-person operations will be delayed for most non-essential employees. Selected non-essential staff will begin to return on Monday, January 24, while most non-essential staff will return on a staggered schedule beginning on Tuesday, February 1. Employees who can work from home are asked to do so until their scheduled return-to-campus date and should check with their supervisors to ensure appropriate compliance.
• Pre-arrival testing is required. Students and employees must order, take, and return an at-home COVID saliva PCR test provided by Morehouse College prior to arriving on campus for the spring semester, including students moving into residential houses and/or attending classes and employees occupying offices or workspaces. Shortly, you will receive a link and instructions regarding how to order your at-home test kit.
• Residential students return on a new staggered schedule. Students living in residential houses will return on an updated staggered schedule beginning January 26. Students should not make travel plans until the new move-in schedule is published.
• Arrival on-campus testing is required. As previously communicated, all students and employees must still take a rapid COVID test upon arriving on campus for the first time during the spring semester; however, a negative result from the at-home test is required before the on-campus test will be administered.
• Full vaccination is required. CDC-approved COVID-19 vaccines are required for students, faculty, and staff. Religious and medical exemptions will be considered.
• Booster shots are required. Booster shots are required from all eligible students and employees before Sunday, February 6 unless an exemption has been approved. Eligible students and employees are those 18 years or older who received their last dose of the Pfizer or Moderna shot more than 6 months prior or who received the Johnson and Johnson/Janssen shot more than 2 months prior.
• There will be no on-campus events with visitors in January. Events scheduled for January involving visitors must be canceled, moved off-campus, or held virtually.
• Masking (indoor and outdoor), physical distancing, and hand hygiene are required.
• Exposure to COVID will trigger mandatory quarantine and isolation. 

Our first priority is a healthy and safe academic, co-curricular, and professional environment. The COVID-19 virus is resurging with the delta variant predominate and the vast majority of the serious illnesses and deaths from COVID-19 are among the unvaccinated. Our policies are based on widely-accepted science, conditions in our local area, and institutional priorities and are implemented in consultation with other institutions in the Atlanta University Center Consortium.
